Renmark Paringa Council & ElectraNet unveil Project EnergyConnect information hub

As reported in The Murray Pioneer - 'Riverlanders can provide assistance and feedback regarding the proposed construction of a power interconnector through the region at information hubs set up by energy contractor ElectraNet. Interactive iPads can now be found at numerous public outlets across the Riverland, which can be used by locals to discuss any social or environmental issues surrounding project EnergyConnect.

ElectraNet land services manager Scott Haynes encouraged Riverlanders to share any feedback that may help identify an optimal route for construction of the interconnector. “As we work to narrow our existing 10km-wide study corridor for the interconnector to a final easement, we are interested in hearing about any opportunities or constraints to the locations which the local community can identify,” Mr Haynes said. “People can provide the same input via their own mobile devices and computers, but these iPads in community locations provide an additional opportunity for those who may struggle with connectivity at home. “These hubs have been created in partnership with local government and I would like to thank the regional councils involved as well as Regional Development Australia, and their staff for their willingness to assist.”

EnergyConnect information hubs can be found at the Renmark Paringa Council foyer, and at libraries in Loxton, Waikerie, Berri and Barmera.'
